Raggedy Ann--created in 1915 by Johnny Gruelle to entertain his ailing daughter--remains a classic toy in the 21st century. She's still that familiar, innocent, simple, and traditional doll that was made out of love. This 17-inch Raggedy is as familiar as the very first, although she does have red hair rather than orange hair like the original doll. Her features are identical, right down to her shiny button eyes. She wears a simple prairie dress adorned with flowers, a crisp apron with her name stitched along the hem, and long white bloomers. This is not meant to be a collectible version of the doll, but that does not mean she won't be valued by children--especially those who discover her for the first time. --Diane Beall

Authentic features of this soft rag doll include shoe-button eyes, embroidered face, yarn hair, and an embroidered heart with "I love you" on the chest. Clothing is removable.
