Here's a fun way to enhance and reinforce an understanding of the ABCs for young learners. Leap's tree house, as he tells you in song, has all 26 letters of the alphabet arranged in a large circle. There are two different modes of play to select. Using one setting, players push a button in the middle of the wheel, causing it to spin and finally land on a letter. In another mode, Leap (whom you may know from countless LeapPad adventures) gives you a letter and asks you to make it appear in the window at the top of the wheel. Underneath the main window, three additional windows appear with pictures behind them. The challenge is then to find the picture that corresponds with the letter--U for umbrella and so on. We like the combination of physical movement and language development this toy presents, and it's a fine way to introduce kids to the ABCs. --John Moe
