Mario Andretti he's not, but Elmo still makes an appealing guide through the automotive world on this 10-inch-wide plastic activity tray. Kids can turn the steering wheel, push buttons to hear driving sentiments from Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Ernie, play a tune, turn on the engine with a key, and use the turn signal. Clearly, real-world driving skills are not the focus here--you use the gearshift to rev the engine--but as long as your toddler isn't actually learning to drive, this shouldn't be a problem. --Claire Dederer
