Editorial Review History buffs, especially those with a strong interest in World War II, will appreciate this masterful 1/16th scale recreation of General George Patton's command car. Instead of merely remaking the car, the creators of this model delved into history to capture the appearance of the vehicle as it must have looked to the General himself. The windshield, which can flip up and down, features imitation mud stains that have been cleared away by the wipers. We also enjoyed the gull wing hood that opens to reveal a highly detailed engine. Although it has the level of detail you would expect from a more fragile collectible, it's pretty solidly put together. The steering wheel and a couple of other small parts fell off after some handling, but this still seems like the kind of car that could do well either on an adult's desk or the bedroom of a reasonably careful older kid. --Charlie Williams 1/18 Scale Patton Command Car
